KNOWLEDGE
Developing and implementing a body- worn camera program requires a broad, systems-based knowledge of all aspects of this complicated process. Many fiscal, operational, and managerial decisions will be made throughout the life of a camera program. The impact can be devastating if poor decisions are made because there was a lack of knowledge. The body-worn camera operational environment is rapidly changing. New laws, products, capabilities, policies, and best practices, among a host of other topics, seemingly evolve daily. It can be a challenge for any executive, manager, and/or fiscal administrator to keep up with all the information that is woven into the processes involved in implementation and sustainment.
Daniel Zehnder is a retired Captain from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. He is the CEO and Chief Consultant of Principis Group, Inc., which he founded in 2015. He has experiential knowledge in all aspects of implementing and sustaining a body-worn camera program. This knowledge is derived through experience and application as well as ongoing study of trends throughout the United States and internationally. Daniel has developed relationships with public safety leaders, practitioners, industry leading technology companies and government agencies across the country. These relationships help him to stay current on this constantly evolving topic.
Daniel has given presentations around the country to public safety organizations, technology companies, state and local governments and public service support organizations on body-worn camera operations and management.
