BWCs and Proposed North Carolina Legislation Part II

I would not be surprised if the NC Legislature took a very hard look at their public records law regarding the release of BWC video. States all around the country have realized that the justifications for withholding video just do not outweigh the need to release it. Laws must balance the public's right to know and law enforcement's valid exemption requirements. It can be done.
